Vol. III. press variants: line 16 p. 160 "woulda ciad" or "would a citadel"; line 3 p. 171 "me.'" or "me.""; line 20 p. 187 "aud" or "and". Of the eight possible combinations of the above, four are recorded: III-1a: woulda ciad / me.' / aud; III-1b: woulda ciad / me." / aud; III-1c: would a citadel / me.' / and; III-1d: would a citadel / me." / and. Getty v. 3 is variant III-1c, and v. 4 has 'Tis on p. 19
There is a concealed second edition of vol. IV in 1761; this is easily distinguished by the correct spelling of "fancy" on p. 73; in the first edition it is mis-spelt "facy"
Getty copy of v. 4 has "facy" on p. 73
Pages 73-74 of v. 1 have solid black rectangles in place of text. A leaf in v. 3 with marbled rectangles in place of text is bound between L4-L5, paged 169-170
Vols. 1 and 3 have engraved frontispieces after Hogarth by "S. Ravenet" and "F. Ravenet" respectively, both presumably the elder Simon François Ravenet. "Because the frontispiece [of v. 3] is keyed to an incident in vol. IV, it is sometimes found with that volume; it is however conjugate with A8 of vol. III"--Monkman
Frontispiece of v. 3 bound at beginning of v. 4 in Getty copy
